Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. In 1996 she debuted as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land a part in Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was a gruelling battle. It was very difficult when she had to change from modelling to acting as the models werent usually believed to be actors and were mostly assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy persevered. She climbed the ladder into bigger roles, beginning with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she was cast on the lead role in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy found her recognition after more than ten years of trying. Amy continued to appear in many of the greatest movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
