Anna Silk was the first child born to Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a actress, playwright, director, producer and professor in St. Thomas University). Her father comes from Britain as does her mother, who is an "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England." Anna's early memories include attending play rehearsals and watching her mother's work. At the beginning of her career, Anna appeared on several commercials on television.
