Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and singer. She's a beautiful, talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. After several appearances in popular TV series, she became famous when she was cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected fame into major screen roles in films like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance in the role of Japanese criminal lord O'RenIshii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Also, she portrayed leading characters in failed box office films like Rise: Blood Hunter. In animated films like Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason's small-screen role in Cashmere Mafia did not produce anything of note. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring role helped Liu re-establish the status of an established actor. Liu is extremely careful when choosing her roles to ensure she isn't a victim of stereotypes. Although she is adamant about her heritage, it hasn't limited her in her professional work as an artist.
